trevorman1972 I have known most of the guys since 1978 in all their guises. I forgot how talented they are. Which is a disgrace on my part.
Also a disgrace is the fact these guys aren't more recognised for their song writing. Undoubtedly fantastic muscians and great guys to boot. Wonderful memories from the late 70s through to the 90s.
Sorry I forgot how good they were.
Thanks
Trev

    The Lanterns of London/Liberty Cage
When TMTCH began an extended 5 year sabbatical in 1990, Paul Simmonds and Phil Odgers formed Liberty Cage in tandem with Neil Simmonds and Dave Kent.
They were later joined by Simon Lomond and eventually by Paul Howard after Dave Kent’s departure.
They released one album, ‘Sleep of the Just’ on Line Records in 1991 and toured substantially throughout the UK and Europe. The album was well received with reviewers praising it’s acoustic edge and a feel more mellow than TMTCH although still lyrically biting.
That album is available digitally at
    https://philodgers.bandcamp.com/
But the band recorded far more than one album’s worth of material and now I’m bringing together the rare and unreleased tracks; from the original cabaret musical stylings of ‘This Side of the Street’ and ‘Tomorrow Today’ to the later full band recordings such as ‘Je Suis Mickey Mouse’ and ‘Magick Lanterns’
I’m giving it the title ‘The Lanterns of London’ and it’s available for download here.
It’s good to be able to put out these songs as I’m sure they were overlooked and underrated in their day. Between the official album and this one, the story of Liberty Cage is complete.
